SUSTAINABILITY
Quality of the finished product has been a guiding principle in the design of L'EIXAMPLE DE MAR. At every stage, from the original plans and tenders to the choice of prestigious architectural teams, from the design of kitchens and bathrooms to the use of high quality materials, care has been taken to endow this development with the hallmark of excellence. |
| Deconstruction This is the method employed by the company for the use of salvageable materials, either directly or by a process of recycling. The object is to reduce waste to a minimum. |
Town Planning In the process of urban development we have taken into account: the position of the buildings in relation to the sun, the planting of indigenous, low water consumption vegetation, pedestrian precincts, the reduction of motorized traffic and the size of the underground car parks. |
Materials and architectural design As an instance of architectural design, the general distribution systems have been centralized, making them accessible for maintenance and inspection and facilitating ventilation. In the great majority of our housing we have incorporated cross-ventilation and protection against the sun. Special care has been taken with thermal insulation to reduce energy cost, and with soundproofing to increase comfort. Communal flat roofs have also been included. Among the criteria employed for choice of materials are: quality, durability and minimum environmental impact (for example; Pladur, wood whose felling is regulated, PVC use reduced to a minimum in wiring and mechanisms, high performance watertight boilers…) Quality and innovation to reduce energy cost The most up to date systems on the market have been used to reduce energy cost and water consumption. All our housing has solar panels for heating water, taps designed to minimize water consumption and double-flush toilet systems. There are also automatic systems for regulating domestic energy consumption and lighting in public areas. All the rooms are wired for computer connections and intelligent building systems. |
